Holistic counselling for a flourishing life

FAQ's

What should I expect on my first counselling visit?
Expect to be made to feel comfortable and safe in the private counselling environment.

The majority of your first session will be spent getting to know one another. You will discuss why you’ve come to see me and work together to identify goals for therapy.

It might be helpful for you to think about what you want to gain from therapy prior to your appointment.

Sessions run for a standard 60 minutes.

Initial couples consultation runs for 90 minutes.

Please click on the button below to choose your appointment on my booking calendar.

My calendar doesn’t reflect my full availability, so please contact me if there is a specific time you need. I am happy to open up sessions when I am available.

You do not need a referral to book an appointment; however, referrals are welcome.

Individual sessions are $165.

Couples sessions are $190.

Concession rates are $110 for individuals and $150 for couples (Pensioner and Health Care Card holders).

All fees are GST inclusive.

Initial couples session is $285 and runs for 90 minutes. (Pensioner and Health Care Card holders $225).

I have a set fee, but I am prepared to discuss a discounted rate for clients who are full-time students or are in financial hardship. I am happy to discuss this during the consultation. Alternatively, feel free to send me a message or email.

Currently, there are no medicare rebates for counselling. Certain private health insurance companies provide rebates for counselling; however, you need to check with them directly regarding your policy.
If an appointment is cancelled at late notice, it is unlikely that this gap will be filled. This means that other clients have lost an appointment opportunity.
With this in mind, I have a strict cancellation policy.

Sessions must be paid in full 48 hours before the commencement of the appointment. Failure to do so will result in the appointment being cancelled. If you decide to end the session before the hour is over the full amount of the session will still apply.

Up to 48 hours before the session, appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled at no charge.

Cancellations between 48 hours and 24 hours before the session, will be charged 50% of the session fee.

Cancellations of less than 24 hours or no-shows to the appointment will be charged 100% of the fee. By paying this invoice, you agree to the above terms.
How many sessions will depend on your unique situation and goals. After the first session, I should be able to give you an indication of how many sessions would be helpful, understanding that nothing is rigid and sometimes flexibility is required.

Please be assured that you are in complete control of the counselling experience and can cease counselling whenever you choose

I welcome clients aged 14 and older.

Counselling children requires specialised training and additional qualifications, which I do not currently hold.

I am a registered provider with several major health insurance companies, including AHM, ARHG, BUPA, HCF, and Medibank Private. Depending on your level of cover, you may be eligible to receive a rebate for counselling sessions through your private health insurance. To make the process as smooth as possible, please check with your provider to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount, and let me know before your session so I can include the appropriate item number on your invoice.

For couples counselling, I recommend booking a 1.5-hour session for your initial appointment to allow time to explore your relationship and concerns in depth. The initial consultation fee is adjusted to reflect the longer session. Before beginning couples work, I meet with each partner individually for at least one session, as this supports a thoughtful and effective process. In some cases, I may also invite couples to complete a comprehensive Gottman Assessment prior to therapy, at a cost of $80, to help guide our work together. Couples sessions are often video recorded as part of best practice, and this is always discussed in advance and only done with your full consent. Working through relationship challenges usually takes commitment, but couples therapy can help you grow together, strengthen your connection, and create lasting positive change. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to provide any information to help you feel comfortable and supported.
